St. George’s Catholic Primary School welcomes children of all denominations. It serves the Parishes of St. George’s in Warminster, St. Bernadette’s in Westbury and the surrounding villages of both towns. It is a feeder schools to St. Augustine’s Catholic College in Trowbridge.

St. George’s School provides a caring and inspiring environment in which to learn, within the Catholic ethos.  It is an environment where everyone is respected, positive self-esteem is fostered and where understanding and compassion will develop the strength of character to be an individual.  Please join us and become part of our vision.

As well as helping the children to use language and numbers effectively, the whole school environment will help the children:

To develop lively, enquiring minds and to question and argue rationally;
To develop creativity and aesthetic awareness and to apply themselves mentally and physically;
To respect religious values and to develop personal and moral values; and
To find pleasure in learning and to experience success.

The school’s teaching aims to discover and develop fully the talents and abilities within each and every student.  Above all, we will encourage and develop in the children a love for God and respect for sound Christian values based on the teachings of Christ as found in the Gospels, which will create life-long learners.

The involvement of parents in their children’s education is valued at St. George’s School and is always encouraged and welcome.  In 2014 a Parent’s Voice group was established to find ways of engaging parents with the school.

As well as help with reading and art and craft, the children enjoy visits from parents and grandparents and other adults with specialist areas of expertise - artists, scientists and historians.  We have regular links with local secondary schools, particularly St.Augustine’s in Trowbridge and Kingdown in Warminster.

We have a qualified Forest School Leader and children have the opportunity to study Forest School techniques as part of the PSHE curriculum.
